Fenelon Falls, in the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) is a ‘city’ of amalgamated rural villages approximately a one-hour drive to either Peterborough or Orillia on the Trent-Severn Waterway and about a two-hour drive north of downtown Toronto.
Enjoy the local lakes, rivers, biking and hiking trails. The old rail trail, which goes through Fenelon along the edge of Cameron Lake, is a walking and biking trail in the summer and part of the snowmobile trail in the winter. It connects to the Cross Canada Trail south of Lindsay and goes north to Haliburton.
Fenelon Falls is located at Lock 34 of the Trent Severn Waterway. This is a 386 kilometre canal route, with 45 locks, connecting Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay. The waterways are open from mid-May to mid-October. Spend some time on the lake with your boat, or tie up to the locks here in Fenelon Falls, where serviced mooring is available. Your family will also enjoy the nearby Splash Pad as well as the playground and volleyball court at the beach. There are also other lakes and rivers to enjoy around Fenelon that are not on the Trent System. Visit museums and local historical sites. Lounge on the beach in Fenelon and explore the village with its quaint but modern shops and lovely restaurants.
In winter enjoy cross-country skiing in this area. There are many downhill ski resorts within an hour or two of Fenelon Falls between Sir Sam’s in Haliburton (probably the closest) and Blue Mountain in Collingwood (probably the largest). Most ski resorts offer equipment rentals.
From local theatre and artist’s studios, to shopping and dining experiences, to pristine lakes and rivers, we have it all! Come and explore! One visit may make you want to live here! When that happens, visit Fenelon Falls Real Estate Ltd at 20 May St., or call us at 1 888 736 8509.
